Airspace Restrictions Announced for Independence Day
In preparation for Independence Day, Delhi Police Commissioner S.B.K. Singh has implemented a ban on flying drones, paragliders, hang gliders, and hot air balloons in the capital's airspace from August 2 to August 16.
According to the directive, Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code 2023 prohibits the operation of aerial devices such as paragliders, paramotors, hang gliders, drones, microlight aircraft, hot air balloons, small powered aircraft, and quadcopters.
The order highlights that these aerial devices could pose a threat to public safety, specific individuals, and critical establishments during the period surrounding August 15. This marks Singh's inaugural directive as the new police commissioner of Delhi.
